Marvel opened the golden doors behind Odin’s Throne today, to reveal the Destroyer armor that will be worn by the villain (Loki?) in the upcoming movie adaptation.
The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, and when it first appeared it was hinted that the Destroyer had been created as a weapon to face some dark menace from the stars. It is first seen residing in the Temple of darkness in Asia. The Destroyer is used by Thor’s arch-foe Loki on several occasions, and each time has actually come close to killing Thor.
The Destroyer is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in Journey into Mystery #118 (Jul. 1965) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
And now it is your turn to react.

Is it just me or does every single thing about this movie so far look horrible? A gilded gold throne? Really? The images of Odin look laughably cheesy, it looks like they tried to overly “modernize” and gild everything. This movie is going to fail miserable based on aesthetics alone.
I still bet things will look infinitely better after post. And, besides, the majority of the audience will have had NO previous exposure to this Marvel character.
He seems a bit small and not beefy enough, last time we saw him in a comic he was Juggernaut size.
I don’t think that a real picture, looks like someone photoshoped a plastic figurine into the throne room pic. The arms/leg position is too perfect…
The Destroyer is an excellent concept to use in a Thor movie. Looking forward to it.
I think that looks pretty awesome.
You have to remember that things in comics to not always transfer to film. The Destroyer armor looks awesome. Its an indestructable robot, does it need to be huge, no, just intimidating. This is a film about gods, why not make the thrown room look grand and majestic? At first I too thought the costumes looked like plastic, but they have grown on me. Thank god that this is being directed by Kenneth Branagh, and not Michael Bay.
