Columbia Pictures is in negotiations with Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor to direct Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, the sequel to the 2007 Nic Cage Ghost Rider flick. Cage is also in early talks to return to the flaming bike as Johnny Blaze.
There’s no early news on the David Goyer story, or what villains will be involved, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio hopes to be in production by late fall. It’s all well and good, but as was pointed out recently, will it really hurt the franchise if Nicolas Cage doesn’t return as Johnny Blaze? What about Danny Ketch? And since everyone is so down on the first film, why not follow the trend (something Sony is good at) and call this movie Ghost Rider: Reboot?

Whose down on the first film. We got what we expected in the first film and thought it was an appropriately entertainment popcorn film…
