After the fan backlash to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, one would think Speilberg and Lucas would be hesitant to jump back on the Indiana Jones franchise so soon.  According to the New Zealand website, Stuff, the fifth Indiana Jones movie would feature Dr. Jones headed to the Bermuda Triangle, presumably to investigate the supernatural mysteries there.

For now, the rumor has proved to be false, according to Frank Marshall, and his Twitter feed.

The rumor about INDY 5 is completely false. Nothing has changed, we are not shooting next year and still in the research phase…

On the flip side, Marshall did confirm that a fifth movie was in the works, or at least in pre-pre-production.

    Maybe if they return everyones money who saw (or purchased a DVD) of #4, then we’ll forgive them and see #5.

    (I guess #2 didn’t kill #3)

    Oh thank goodness. Much as Harrison Ford was my teenage heart-throb, he is now much too old to be taking his shirt off @_@;;;
