MAJOR SPOILERS POLL OF THE WEEK
With Ryan Reynolds now appearing in both the Deadpool and Green Lantern movies, we thought it was high time to get both of these characters in the ring to see who would emerge victorious.
MAJOR SPOILERS DISCUSSION: The Absolute Authority
The Ellis/Hitch run of The Authority lasted 12 issues, divided in three story-arcs: The Circle, Shiftships, and The Outer Dark. They showed an increasingly dangerous enemy: an international terrorist (previously seen in Stormwatch), an invasion from an alternative Earth, and “God,” the hostile alien creator of the Solar system, with corresponding high scale violence and property destruction. The usage of a narrative tool called decompression, taken mainly from manga and novel in American super-hero comic-books, was distinctive: big, panoramic panels were used to examine action in deep detail, with a slower rhythm and lighter plotting per issue.

Appreciated Dexter having the sack to be upfront about his feelings on 2001.
A refreshing review.
While it is slow, I still felt like I should cross the pond and brutally murder Dexter for not liking 2001, then I remembered that I hate Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and no one has killed ME yet, so…
It never occurred to me to send an e-mail to point out the web site was down, you guys post here often enough to notice something like that on your own.
P.S.- Most.Get.Atomic.Robo.Now!!!
This is the first podcast I’ve actually listened to. Normally, work frowns upon streaming and, when I get home, I barely spend time on my PC. I told “The Man” to shove it today and streamed at work. Gotta say … I had fun listening. I don’t know anything about the Authority and it’ll probably stay that way. Atomic Robot seems great (especially when narrirated by Stephen). I’m picking up my first issue of Legion today so I’m very much looking forward to the next podcast.
Keep up the good work guys!
Wait, you’re “can’t hit *insert large inanimate object here*” Brian from Critical Hit and you don’t listen to the podcast? Fer shame!
Nope that is a different Brian. Brian G writes reviews on the MS site, D&D Brian is the Critical Hit person, and SkrullBryan is our announcer for the show.
My mistake, sorry.
Wow that’s alot of Brians. So this is Brian G then?
I’m going to start signing my posts as Brian G. from now on. Didn’t realize there were so many Brian’s as well. Curse the 1970-1980’s and their fondness for that name!!!
We should probably take a vote and reassign new names for all but 1 of us. Personally, I’ve always thought I looked like a “Zartan”. lol
so many brians, they should have a battle royale
about season 3 of heroes. The first part of it wasn’t good at all, the second part (about the concentration camp) was actually quite good.
I read somewhere else that one of the main writers of season 1 quit the show after that season to start writing a show of his own making (I don’t remember the name, but it is that show about the pieshop owner who can revive people with his touch. a very good series) and that he returned to work on the second half of season three and than left again.
