For a while, we’ve been wondering which Green Lantern villain would appear in the upcoming Ryan Reynold Green Lantern flick.  H’wood has answered by tagging Peter Sarsgaard to play Dr. Hector Hammond.  With Blackest Night being a big deal right now, it is to understand why the Suits would decide to go this route.  On the other hand, I’m sure many will be surprised Sinestro isn’t making the big villain debut.  From the Warner Bros. standpoint this decision does make sense as Batman Begins did the same thing with Scarecrow and Ra’s al Ghul before the big Joker flick that was The Dark Knight.

Green Lantern is schedule to begin shooting in March.

  1. Presumably, Sinestro will be in the film as Hal’s trainer with possible hints to his future turn. Hopefully, we won’t get a situation where Billy Dee Williams becomes Tommy Lee Jones.

  2. Wow.

I would have sworn we would have gotten some version of Emerald Dawn & Emerald Dawn II with Sinestro as the big bad.

But, once you make the connection with the way they did the Batman movies, yeah, then it makes sense. I would like to see The Shark or the Invisible Destroyer though.

Maybe this won’t be a shallow one shot type movie?

    Again, Wow.
