If you’ve been wondering who the big villain would be in the fourth Spider-Man movie, you may have your answer in an interview John Malkovich gave to an Italian sports show called “Quelli Che il Calcio” (which probably translates, to “Hey, it’s Italy, I’ll tell all, and there’s NO WAY, it will ever make it back to the States).
“When conductor Simona Ventura asked him about his role of Vulture in the movie, he not only didn’t deny his involvement, but confirmed that he’s waiting for the final script to be sent to him, and that the movie has been delayed. He also hopes that shooting will begin as soon as possible.”
So there you have it. Looks like at least one villain has been selected for the film, although I’m a bit disappointed we haven’t seen announcements of the Lizard, as that would be a nice bookend to the character we’ve seen throughout the other movies.

I just cannot see that man onscreen without yelling MALKOVICH! at the top of my lungs. It’s like he can only play one character doing an impression of several others.
I too was going to ask about the Lizard. Seems odd to have Curt Connors around and, after four movies, not have the Lizard.
Black Cat or Kraven the Hunter would be more interesting than the Vulture, imo.
Ben Kingsley would have been a good choice, too.
I always liked the idea of Conners turning into the Lizard, and Kraven coming into town to hunt him down. Then you have Spidey trying to save Conners, while having to fight Kraven and Lizard.
The Lizard/Kraven combo sounds a lot better than the Vulture.
What I wish these companies would realize is why do you have to have two villians in one movie? Why? Each villian could have its own movie. It makes too much going on and the last Spider Man movie was the weakest of them all.
Pheh, Spider-Man 3 had 3 villains…and, yes, suffered terribly for it.
They should have focused on Harry Osborn, which had been building since the first movie and made for much better drama than cocky Parker/Venom and the Sandman.
Well all of this is now off the table, now that 4 has been scrapped, and they are rebooting: http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/urgent-spider-man-4-scrapped-as-is-raimi-and-cast-out-franchise-reboot-planned/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Apparently, according to The Beat, it’s ALL over now! I’m sorta shocked! I really liked Tobey Maguire as Spiderman. Ah well!
