In an interview with TV Guide Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff talks about writing comic books, and the debut of her first at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

“I grew up reading ‘Betty & Veronica,” she says. “I was obsessed with it. Every time that we would go on an airplane or on a car trip I would go and get them and now I’ve become a fan of just the genre in general. It really makes me excited. I’m a huge fan of [comics writer and television producer] Jeph Loeb. I’ve read all his work and I think he’s phenomenal. And I love all the Superman stuff he’s done.”

Sackhoff’s series will be called Versus, and is co-written by Sxv’Leithan Essex.

She was openly derisive of the ‘geeks’ who followed her show and attend conventions when she was on Letterman, and now she’s ‘a fan of the genre’. Smacks of desperate cross promotion related to her rumored Typhoid Mary role.
