The YouTube boom is great as it allows us to see the best and the worst of what people are doing creatively. On one hand you might end up with the crappiest crap you’ve ever crapped, but then there are videos that end up with a huge following that start memes, or land someone a high profile job. The latest success is Fede Alvarez, a Uruguayan commercials director, who has been tapped to direct a full length motion pictured based on his short film Panic Attack.
The film has been picked up by Ghost House Pictures, which is run by Sam Raimi, who will also be producing the film.

I don’t think it will have the same success as District 9, mainly because this doesn’t have anything but action in the trailer. District 9 already was playing with the theme and documentary style, referring to what was going on in the world.
I am thoroughly impressed with that. Sure there was some scenes that looked fake as hell.. but overall the entire thing was well done and I think could be killer with the right director and decent budget for SFX.
isn’t that the song from 28 weeks later?
