Warner Bros. has put out the casting call for actors to join Ryan Reynolds down under in the Green Lantern movie.  According to Spoiler TV, the usual suspects are making their appearance:

26-32, a smart and attractive woman with an MBA. She started as a pilot and now runs Ferris Aircraft. She is a work-a-holic…FEMALE LEAD

27-35, Character actor who is austere and impersonal, he is real “scummy.” He is a pathologist and also the son of a Senator.

Mid-30s to Mid-40s, he is smart, tough, intimidating and in great physical shape.

Mid-30s to mid-40s, he is a great warrior.

It interesting that Abin Sur isn’t going the all CGI route ala Doctor Manhattan in Watchmen.  And, with Hector Hammond and Sinestro both appearing in the film, one my expect Sinestro to be on the side of the green light in this first film before his ultimate corruption to the Yellow Lanterns in flick number two.

Hmm,, 26 and 27 seem kinda young (though Ryan Reynolds does have a much more boyish fact than the Hal Jordan I’m used to). I hope the cast folks who come off more as 30 than 25….

it makes sense, it’s this first movie and the actors WILL age. They will hit their stride in the overall story by the second film and that won’t be for another 4-5 years.

Lest we forget, Dr. Manhattan was played by an actor, though he was CGI.

You know who I would have liked for Sinestro 20 odd years ago? The guy who played Q on ST:TNG.
