I don’t have his last name (or is it his first), as such is the secrecy that is Deviant Art. Yesterday we featured a piece by Derek Fridolfs, which was colored by Judson, so to give him his moment in the spotlight, we’re featuring an original piece by Judson, which showcases everything good about Red Sonja. Do I sense another theme for next week?

Sonja’s curves are appealing. Though she’s be a bit lithe to be such a fierce warrior, she looks good on the page.
The colors emanate the feeling of extreme heat in the room. If the artist has Sonja glistening with a sheen of sweat I would give that element high marks.
The light source seems to be coming from the brazier so there should be more shadow on her near thigh and similarly lit areas. A little more shading and subtle definition is needed.
But it’s a fun picture. Makes me want to play D&D…or watch redheads sweat. Whichever.
I like this version of her, almost looks like teenage Sonja. THIS is what she could look like with a “normal” body instead of the silicon fantasy we have all come to expect, good for Jordan! The whole panel looks like it was lifted from an animated release…although the TV version would probably have a more covering outfit. Very nice.
