The hordes have moved on, which means it is time to offer up another Rapid-Fire Roundup of San Diego Comic-Con News, distilled to its very essence; which makes it quite powerful, so use caution when reading.

Iron Man 2

  • Matt Fraction is lending his talents to the Iron Man 2 video game.  But you knew that already.
  • Look for Gary Shandling as a senator in the movie
  • During the panel, Bob Layton came on stage and said, “The franchise is in good hands”.  Well of course he would say that…

Dark Reign: The List

  • Apparently the Dark Avengers/X-Men crossover will take Norman Osborn and the X-Men to places they’ve never been before.  AGAIN!  Wait, that doesn’t make sense… moving on.
  • Jason Aaron is writing Dark Reign: The List: Wolverine and says it is pretty crazy
  • Dark Reign: The List:  Punisher sees the Dark Avengers out to kill Frank Castle
  • Ed McGuinness and Johnathan Hickman will be taking on The List: Secret Warriors, while Dan Slott and Adam Kubert are on the List: Spider-Man issue.
  • Baron Zemo will appear again
  • SWORD will play a big role in the series by the end of the year
  • Who wants to see Spider-Man fighting Normy Green Goblin?  Of course you do.
  • What the heck is going on between Emma Frost and Scott Summers? The Utopia series will answer that for you.
  • More What Ifs? are on the way
  • Who wants to see a big fight between The Hood and Frank Castle? Punisher #10.

Hero Up

  • Look for lot’s of tongue in cheek humor from this animated series.
    • Silver Surfer as a beach bum, Captain America thinking Roosevelt is still in office, and son on.
  • The good guys live in Hero City (not to be confused with City of Heroes), while Dr. Doom and his Lethal Legion take up residence in Villainville (not to be confused with Washington D.C.)
  • Expect to see a lot of Marvel U. characters in this series.
  • Speaking of characters – keep your ears on alert to hear Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Grey Delisle, Greg Grunberg, Adrian Padar, Tricia Helfer, George Takei (oh, my!) Michelle Trachtenberg, and Mark Hamill to provide voice talent.

Marvel Animation

  • Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes moves to Nicktoons with a fall lineup of 26-episodes, some that have not been seen in the U.S.
  • Iron Man Armored Adventures will also be on Nicktoon.
    • Villains include Ultimo, Ghost, the Controller, Living Laser, and MODOK
    • Be on the lookout for Stealth Armor, Arctic Armor, Space Armor, Armor All, and a giant suit to battle jade giant.  One of those in the list is a joke.  Or is it?
  • Angel will become Archangel on Wolverine and the X-Men
  • Planet Hulk will make a direct to DVD movie in February
  • A Wolverine anime teaser was shown that was very much what you’d expect from a Wolverine anime project.

  • The same goes for Anime Iron Man.  It will be set in Japan.

  • Work is being done on X-Men and Blade anime projects.
  • Thor: Tales of Asgard arrives in 2011.

That’s what I have for now.  Oh, wait – more pictures!

More as it comes floating through the ether and into that transmitter in my hollowed out tooth.

Cheat like I do. Google the character a year later and read their pages on wiki and other sites. It’s the only way I can afford to keep up beyond the occasional TPB.

I can’t wait to see Marvel without “Dark Reign” going-on anymore. God, it feels like it’s been forever!

“Baron Zemo will appear again” About damn time! He’s been back like a year now, you’d think what Normie did with his team would get some reaction from him…

downbylaw, I’m not going to question your tastes, but they serously hurt my mouth. The hood? Favourite villain? Really?

Y’know, I’d probably really prefer it if they just killed off Spider-Man. Right now his comics have the same entertainment experience of watching a duck with no legs attempt to get to a pond and swim.

@Lifeisaglitch: dude you know that “70% cocoa dark chocolat rain with almonds and possibly caramel” causes cancer right? Also I read the paper used to print those comics is made of puppies…

I guess someone saw Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and said to themselves: “hey we can rip that off, let put Wolvie instead but keep the same art design, no one will see the difference! Plus, everyone knows you can sell dirt if you call it :”Wolverine dirt””
