Here’s the latest roundup of rumors, tid-bits, and bric-a-brac out of H’Wood. Some might be true, some might be way off base, but all of them should stir a little something in that head of yours.
Indiana Jones 5: Consider the source, but Shia LaBeouf claims Steven Spielberg is well underway on the next installment of the Indiana Jones franchise, only this time there will be no special effects.
Three Stooges: Sean Penn’s year off announcement has The Three Stooges project in limbo. What a shame. I would like to have seen what he, Jim Carrey, and Benicio del Toro would have cooked up. Oh well, there’s always those Major Spoilers Podcast boys.
James Bond: Look for Blofeld to return in the next James Bond flick, and is going to be played by Michael Sheen. If that falls through, I want H’wood to remember that I’ve been shaving my head on a regular basis, and I do enjoy the Tootsie Pops, so I just might throw my hat into the ring – oh wait, that’s Oddjob.
RoboCop: The movie is getting a production delay, thanks to Natalie Portman. Director Darren Aronofsky is taking time to work on Black Swan, a ballerina flick starring Portman, which means RoboCop is probably going to get pushed back, back, way back past 2011 before it begins production.
Wanted 2: Electric Boogaloo: Don’t ask how it is going to happen, but apparently Angelina Jolie is signed for the sequel for the action movie. So is this going to be a sequel, a prequel, or a series of flashbacks?
Ghostbusters 3: Dan Akroyd is surprisingly talkative about the third installment of the ghost comedy. Most recently he spilled the beans, that indeed a new group of Ghostbusters will take over the franchise, but likens it more to the latest Star Trek reboot than a total remake.
We3: Still in the works, the latest word is the animals will have monotone computer voices instead of stunt casting.
Red Dawn: Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki have been cast in the remake of the cold war film about a small town invaded by the Chinese and Russian armies, and the team of teenagers who join up to fight back. All I can say is WOOOOLLLLLVERINES!!!! Man, how cool would it be if the production company was able to snag appearances by C. Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Lea Thomspon and Charlie Sheen to bring the 1984 film full circle? Yeah, okay, the producers can also throw in Jennifer Grey if they really have to.

we3: not sure about that one
indiana jones 5: didn’t spielberg said that about the special effects in IJ4??
robocop: hey any reason to show natalie portman side boob is good enough for me. and she’s working with darren aronovsky, so it’s not a total loss.
wanted 2: wtf, how is it gonna work? if she’s in it, that mean no James Macavoy. the sequel game was great though.
Red Dawn out of it’s Cold War context is a really bad idea…
We3 is a wonderful story…
And I like Jennifer Grey better with her original nose.
Yes, the Ferris Beuller nose suits her much better.
Hey! How do I get a cool corner ICON!!!
wow, WE3 really excites me.
One of my favorite comics of all time.
Have you read it, Stephen?
Surely you can’t diss Frank Quitely’s work after that!
Ghostbusters 3: Dan Akroyd is surprisingly talkative about the third installment of the ghost comedy. Most recently he spilled the beans, that indeed a new group of Ghostbusters will take over the franchise, but likens it more to the latest Star Trek reboot than a total remake.
Keep it Dane Cook-free and I’m there. I don’t have a newer console, so I can’t play the new game and have to hold out hope for a new movie.
Oh, and your resemblence to the Three Stooges is uncanny.
Oh, and your resemblence to the Three Stooges is uncanny.
Yes… yes, it is… which is probably more disturbing than uncanny.
don’t get me wrong, i love WE3 as a comic. i’m just not sure it will translate very well into a movie.
