not that i don’t want to talk to you, but calling you will cost me a lot of money, so i’m sticking to this message board

a friend of ,mine made me discover scott pilgrimm right when volume 3 was coming out. so at that time i was in heaven, 3 volumes of pure goodness to read in a row. the thing was almost a revelation, mixing video games stuff with a love story and fun action sequence… and make it work. that takes talent, man.

the only bad thing is the art. as the story go forward, i found it more and more difficult to tell one character from another. especially the female characters. it makes for some awkward conversation where you don’t know who’s talking to who and why she’s pissed.

nevertheless, the book is great, and the minute volume 5 came out i bought it i read it right as i came through the door, almost with my winter coat on. the thing has built an almost-cult following and i can see why.

Thanks for answering my question on the last show.. Meanwhile I’ve gotten alot of issues from an online retailer and my mine problem is being from Portugal. We have maybe half a dozen of comic only shops and some more that carry the sporadic issue from marvel/dc. These stores rarely sell anything below cover price.

On the next topic.. I really love Scott Pilgrim, and although the girls are hard to tell apart the art is really nice. It’s got a gaming/slacker vibe, the characters ae lovable and the story is fantastic. I’ve seen some reviewers say that because they are older did not identify with the story.. I’m anxious to know what you “old men” think :)

Sorry bout not recording the comment but i lack equipment. Goto look into that.

You know you have something to say, say it in the comment section
