Dark Horse already has a first look deal with Universal, and to help the process along, the company has hired Keith Goldberg as the Senior Vice-President of Production for Dark Horse Entertainment.
Calling Goldberg “the right person at the right time,” Dark Horse president Mike Richardson said: “We’ve seen explosive growth throughout our company, and the film division is no exception. With the addition of an ambitious slate at Universal to our existing film projects, we needed to expand.”
In the deal signed earlier this year, Universal gets access to Dark Horse’s characters and properties, while Dark Horse gets a studio that will distribute its films. This does not include licensed characters and properties like Star Wars, Aliens, Predator, Indiana Jones, and so on.

My first thought with that headline was “Why would Dark Horse hire Bill Goldberg for anything?” Luckily, I continued reading and everything made sense.
