millar2.jpgFrom his message board, Mark Millar says he’ll do a new Superman script completely for free.

It’s 8.58am right now, my guys at CAA get into the office in about seven hours and my call will be waiting for them to talk about this. I want to revamp Superman like Hillary wants thin ankles. Revamping this franchise is what I as given fingers for and so, invited or not, I’m putting my plan together now. I’ve been asked to work on half a dozen screenplays lately, but this is the only one I have ever truly wanted.

As most here know, I have literally hundreds of pages of notes and sketches just waiting for this opportunity. This would be my dream gig and, as a fan, I know exactly what this project needs to work. This has to be Superman for the 21st Century, keeping everything we adore, but starting from scratch and making the kids love it as much as the 30-somethings. I would honestly write this thing for free.

Anyway, my treatment is being polished as we type. Wish me luck. I want to do that Superman movie we all want to see.

ARE YOU LISTENING H’WOOD? Talk about getting around that whole writer’s strike thing…

Nope, didn’t think so.

Only if Superman doesn’t give up at the end. Or blow a hole in Doomsday’s Chest.

Millar’s SUPERMAN ADVENTURES was a fun comic, and a great read for adults and kids. I actually would like to see Millar get this. He knows the subject matter and actually likes it. To many Hollywood “writers” get snobbish and think that because it is a comic derived subject, that they have a better idea and need to change it.

I’d pay my $7.50 to see it.

or in the end of the movie dont let the villian realize the error of his ways and become kind of good like the endings of the spiderman movies…..blah.

or the worst is where the whole movie is based on the orgin and the last 20-30 minutes has the real action….

do a deadpool movie!!! just start out with action then all of a sudden break the fourth wall and have him give us a quick intro on the whys whats whos whens and wheres….then let the movie commence with spoofs of batman, superman and spiderman intertwined….it would be great….but oh whale….

good luck on getting the superman movie!!! make us fanboys proud!!!

Funny you say that, I hear he’s going to remake Romeo and Juliet, except Romeo is a US soldier (Josh Hartnett,) Juliet is the daughter of a terrorist leader (Scarlett Johannsen) and Tybalt is Optimus Prime (Andy Dick.)

I look forward to it then. Let’s hope there is a car chase in this movie for a change…
