George Lucas announced yesterday he is planning on bringing the Star Wars franchise to a live action television series soon. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Lucas said he was just beginning work, but did say the series will feature minor characters from the movies and will not feature any of the Skywalker clan.

This shouldn’t be confused with the animated series Lucas is also working on called Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

  1. I really, REALLY want to be excited about the live action project. Really.

But I have a feeling its going to suck. I don’t know why I have that feeling, but I just do. Anyone else got a bad feeling about this?

  2. Okay. Not to be a stick in the mud but Lucas has been saying this sice Revenge of the Sith. What fanboys have been clamoring for is hard info like when its going to debut and where. The Clone Wars series was said to be coming out first and to be in some stage of production but there is still nothing aparent on the horizon for this either.
