Even before the first issue of Batman and the Outsiders #1 hits the stands, DC has announced a new creative team of Chuck Dixon and Julian Lopez. Not only is the original cover (right) getting ditched in favor of two new ones by Doug Braithwaite and Ryan Sook, but the original writing team of Tony Bedard and Koi Turnbull have been given the heave ho too.
But wait, there are even more changes in store for the Dark Knight and his covert underground strike force.
The new covers are going to feature Oliver Queen and Cassandra Cain. Will they be brought into the fold?
The new era for the team begins with Catwoman, Metamorpho, Katana, Grace and Martian Manhunter called into investigate a potential time bomb at Jardine Enterprises — but will the new team’s first mission also be it’s last?
With the announcement of the change in Batman and the Outsiders #1, you can expect the original solicits for #2 and #3 to be changed as well. No one is letting the cat out of the bag as to why the sudden and last minute change, although Dixon did say in an interview that “things can get away from people”.
