The latest rumor concerning the Justice League of America have the movie being shot in Australia. Even though the studios have been somewhat mum on any big news, casting for the film is currently underway, and George Miller is still the main man when it comes to filling the director spot.
The film, more than likely a CGI piece, is expected to be in production from February to June 2008, with Lord of the Rings and Matrix producer Barrie M. Osborne keeping everything from spiraling out of control.
If Osborne is indeed attached to produce, then we can expect a film that isn’t just thrown together as a way to make a quick buck. Sounds like everything is coming together, I just wish some official word would be made so our fears can be calmed.

I don’t think a 2hour totally CGI movie, could be done in that time period. Shrek, Cars, Incredibles, Beowolf, all take years to complete. You know an interesting style for the JLA movie would be the Scanner Darkly style. Make it Cel shaded comic book looking. That would even take over a year to complete. Scanner Darkly got delayed over a year.
If they do it all in CGI, and it takes less than a year to do… might as well press it straight to DVD and forget the theaters. WETA, Digital Domain, Rhythm & Hues, Blue Sky, Pixar, ILM… none of them could do a JLA movie in that amount of time, with all their people working in that amount of given time. If this rumor holds up… it will be sad.
I’d expect at least BLUR Marvel Ultimate Alliance level, and as good as that looks… I’d still want better.
