Obsessed With Film is also reporting the Magneto movie will take place in the time period of the current X-Men films and may remind many viewers of Boys From Brazil.
Take the jump for some potential spoilers about the flick that will reunite Magneto and Prof. X.
The movie is book-ended with two scenes in Poland at the 60th Anniversary of the Auschwitz Liberation. These events take place within the timeframe of the first three X-films and will reunite Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
And then…
The action switches to Israel where Erik searches for a man well known for helping Holocaust survivors. He finds him playing soccer: Dr Charles Xavier.
So how do you film a young Ian McKellen? Some sources have suggested some pixel manipulation to de-age the characters to their prime years, although I’m not sure all the Vaseline in the world smeared on the lens can make Patrick Stewart look 25 or 30 . Although, I must say he had me fooled in L.A. Story where he played the owner of a restaurant, and had a full head of hair to boot.
The film is written and directed by David Goyer and is set for a 2009 release.

So much for ‘I’ve got Shakespeare flowing through my veins’.
I’ve met Mckellen and Stewart, at the same party. Mckellen was the more sociable, as I recall – Stewart seemed not to want to talk to anyone but his female companion.
And Stewart was better off only talking to his female companion! Aren’t we all?
Well, it WAS a party. It would be polite to socialise a bit…
