Received this late yesterday and didn’t have time to post until now. Marvel sent one of their cryptic messages that said “September 10, 2007”, and included the full image you can see after the jump. Things don’t look good for the X-Men, and hopefully we’ll here more on Monday.

Aren’t the X-Men disassembled a few times a year?
It doesn’t mean anything other than that people should stop reading marvel. They like every other comic they own will revamp and reboot a good two months after they do this fiasco.
What the X-Men need is to be released from their current imprisonment. The idea that they have a separate editor for the line and only appear in X-related books is choking this franchise to death. Shatter the X-Ghetto and spread the titles and characters throughout the MU! Heck, a half-Initiative and half X-Book even would do for a great bridge.
If Brian Bendis is behind this garbage then I hope he isn’t allowed to damage the core Astonishing X-Men Characters and story. Warren Ellis will be taking over Astonishing X-Men after Joss Whedon ends his run. Clearly, Astonishing X-Men is the only X-Men title worth reading, everything else is crap. Now that 90% of Whedon’s run has been published a very sophisticated and well thought out story is revealed. In fact, Whedon’s run is my favorite since the classic Claremont/Byrne Era.
House of M by Bendis was a travesty, especially when you compare it to Grant Morrison’s New X-Men. How Bendis can be allowed to continue to RUIN Marvel Comics Intellectual Property is beyond me. How can anyone read the boilerplate crap he churns out?! Bendis’ writing is Shallow, unoriginal and always braindead. I remember reading once that Quesada and Grant Morrison had a falling out over something and that shortly afterward Grant Morrison left for DC Comics. Being a Marvel Comics fan for the last decade, it seems to me that Quesada likes to dumb down comics and that he finds Grant Morrison’s work too intellectual. Thus, we had Quesada mangle the plot developments of what Cassandra Nova is and the Magneto being Xorn storyline and many other plot points. I think Quesada should be fired as Editor in Chief: Choosing Bendis over Morrison is unforgiveable.
Well next year it will be Bendis vs. Morrison during both companies Summer crossover events. I only read the main HofM book along with the Hulk and Son of M books and I liked them. Don’t get me wrong, I love Morrison’s writing but I usually like Bendis also. It takes a lot for me to hate a comic book writer.
Wait, is Warren Worthington back to his pre-“Fall of the Mutants” Archangel non-blue skin?
The X books have been on the backburner for a while and this is probably Marvel’s attempt to publicize them. They have a supposed big X-event coming up with the “Messiah CompleX”. I think there are too many X titles that have watered it down. You’ve got Uncanny, New, Astonishing, Adjectiveless, not to mean X-Factor. Astonishing is clearly the best, though I’m not nearly as into Ellis as Whedon, so we’ll see if it stays that way. But, really, does this mean anything? Marvel dissassembled the Avengers and now we have like 4 Avengers teams if you could the Initiative and Young’ins. So there might be short-term stuff, but the X-Men are not going anywhere.
ads mean nothing anymore… remember “One More Day”? so much hype, so much trash. XMen Disassembled just probably means a new team. Nothing more.
New roster in the X-Books don’t mean anything since they’ve had a revolving door on membership for years.
