Millennium Films has acquired the rights to Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian series.
[Paradox Entertainment prexy-CEO Fredrik] Malmberg declined to renew another option with Warners when the rights lapsed in spring. He was frustrated that seven years’ worth of development at WB had not yielded a production start on the franchise that launched the film career of Arnold Schwarzenegger in its first bigscreen go-round.
The company will either fully produce the flik or partner with its distributor.
Millennium is ditching everything previously worked on by Warner Bros., including the Robert Rodriquez stuff, and start from scratch hoping to make the next Conan film closer to the original creation.
