In Image Comics The Overman series, kicking off in December, the end of man is very near.
According to writer Scott Reed, “The story is a stark and direct manifesto of the future. It’s set in a neo-deco futuristic Pittsburgh, and begins much like a detective story. The plot escalates beyond that, into something surreal and incredibly devastating”
The five-issue mini-series is written by Reed, and will be illustrated by Shane White.
If you are at Wizard World Chicago this weekend, you can stop by the Image booth (#5206) to get a sneak peek at the first chapter.
Or you could just take the jump and check it out for yourself.
Here’s how Image describes the series:
Hired killer Nathan Fisher stumbles upon a vast, cryptic plot to merge Mankind with a bio-mechanical species, a scheme that could result in the total enslavement of Earth and beyond. Risking everything, and skirting the edge of madness, Nathan must somehow find a way to stop the mastermind behind this apocalyptic goal; a powerful corporation called Omakon, and their ancient, perverse president, Arnold Reitch.
The five-issue mini-series will arrive in December for $2.99.
