DC Panels at San Diego Comic-Con
Fans of everything DC, which would probably include me after looking at my last order from Diamond, has released all of the panels the company is hosting at Comic-Con International: San Diego.
Thursday, July 26
10:30-11:30: DC Talent Search Orientation 1
Come hear what DC Comics looks for in artists and how to improve your chances at becoming a working professional. Remember, diversity is the key with DC: DC Universe, Vertigo, WildStorm, Mad Magazine, Minx and more! This extremely informative orientation session will explain how DC’s Talent Search works. In order to have your work reviewed, attendance at this orientation session is mandatory — not all attendees are guaranteed a review.
12:15-1:15: Countdown . . . To The End?
The DC Universe survived 52, but will it survive COUNTDOWN? This can’t-miss panel looks at the new year-long adventure and the ramifications of a DCU with 52 universes. The Monitors are watching closely as Jason Todd, Donna Troy, and Jimmy Olsen are joined by a cast of hundreds! Critically acclaimed creator Brian Wood is front and center in his first Comic-Con Spotlight. Whether it is his hit series DMZ or the highly anticipated Northlanders, Brian is here for you! Joined by Vertigo Editor Will Dennis, this Q&A session promises to entertain!
6:00-7:00: Group Therapy: Leagues, Legions, Societies and Teens!
The DCU is home to the world’s greatest super-heroes, and they have banded together in teams with one common goal in mind: Justice. Whether they’re rambunctious teenagers from the future, WWII veterans teaching a new generation, the superpowered elite, or the sidekicks who have forged their own way, they are one of the DCU’s greatest assets. Join an important panel featuring the best teams that define heroism in the DC universe. Join top sf/comic-book writers and artists Orson Scott Card, Richard Christian Matheson, Mark Protosevich, Steve Niles, Bill Sienkiewicz, David Levy and Jason Chan as they unveil and discuss their contributions to the I AM LEGEND inspired comic book and master SF author Richard Matheson’s enduring influence. The limited edition comic will be available at the panel and at designated times in the DC booth.
