Yes! Our favorite zombie slayer Ash has been fighting the deadites/Marvel Zombies in an all new series, and today Dynamite Entertainment announced the sold out issue #3 will be going back to print with a brand new variant cover. Interestingly, this is going to be an exclusive limited run of 3000. With art by Arthur Suydam, the cover is a tribute to Marvel Graphic Novel #1: The Death of Captain Marvel.
It’s a pretty wicked cover that you can see after the jump.
Hail to the King, baby!
The reprint is available now for $14.99.

And, for comparison, here is the much more jumbled version:
Has anyone seen a zombified Doc Strange yet? Am I the only one who missed it?
Doctor Strange has not yet appeared in ‘Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness’ (he’s referred to in issue #3 as not yet being infected), and I don’t remember whether he’s in the original series or not.
However, these covers are homages, and as such don’t really have a thing to do with the interiors, it’s just that he appeared on the original…
Any other covers you guys want to see Zombie-fied? I wouldn’t mind seeing Power Pack #1…heh heh…
DC should tip the hat to Marvel Zombies…not with a series, obviously, just have Arthur Suydam do a series of Zombie-fied DC cover tributes. Maybe as a one-off book? I can picture New Teen Titans #1 , or the “Wanna make somethin’ of it?” Justice League #1 cover? Crisis on Infinite Earths covers would be sweet too. Ah well, pipe dream…
While I think Marvel Zombies was pretty cool, everything that has spun out of that has been a real fluke as far as popularity goes. The Ultimate Fantastic Four tie-in was just OK and as much as I love Ash, with all the other zombie related titles out there (Raise the Dead, Walking Dead, all the Living Dead comic adaptations, Rob Zombie, etc.) I’m getting pretty zombied out. I see Black Panther is visiting the zombie universe soon so I guess we haven’t seen the end of Marvel Zombies.
If DC jumped on board doing DC Zombies, I think they would get called on it, and the fad would quickly end.
That being said, I’m all for the Teen Titans #1 and Justice League #1 zombie covers! :D Heck why stop there – Let’s see zombiefied versions of Witchblade, Gen13, Authority and more!
What Arthur Suydam should do is create his own coffee table book with his favorite zombiefied homages to his favorite comics. I’d buy that!
I want to see a zombie version of Youngblood.
This may be a sublimated desire to see Youngblood dead, but still…
Doc Strange was breifly seen in panels of UFF. His moustahce was notably flattened.
And, in Marvel Zombies: Dead Days, which came out last night (and is in the recap pile for sometime in the next couple days. YAY!) we do see a zombie Doctor Strange, as well as his transformation.
Seeing this image, it reminds me of just how stupid it was to kill off Captain Marvel in the first place, seeing how they continually reproduce this character, rather than stand behind it and just how unique it really is.
It’s a lot like Bela Lugosi having to beg to be Dracula in “Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein”….absolutely ridiculous.
No matter how poignant the story was or is, it’s been long enough, and there’s more stories and statements to be told.
I say bring him back.
