The Hollywood Reporter has Warner Bros. snagging up the Metal Men in hopes of making a hit flick from the lesser known super heroes. Eric Champnella is signed to write, with Lauren Shuler Donner and Jack Leslie producing. Geoff Johns will serve as the Executive Produce. We all know Johns background in comics and film, but you may not know Shuler Donner brought us such hits as X-Men and Constantine.
Based on a DC Comics hero created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru in 1962, “Metal” revolves around a brilliant scientist, William Magnus, and his creations: six highly advanced robots who have powers associated with their respective metals — gold, iron, lead, tin, mercury and platinum. Instead of having to be programed, the Metal Men can think for themselves, which is both their genius and their biggest flaw.
No word if Will Magnus will be on or off his meds in the movie, or if Plutonium will be striking terror in the hearts of men.
No word on a potential release date.
