picomn.jpgLions, Tigers and Bears volume 1 by Mike Bullock and Jack Lawrence has won the prestigious Angouleme Discovery Prize for Younger Audiences at the Angouleme International comics Festival.

The Discovery Prize is the European equivelent to the American Eisner Award.

“The magnitude of just how prestigious this is hasn’t sunk in yet,” stated Bullock, creator and writer of the book. “I’m excited and honored that we won, and very thankful the book is reaching that many new readers.”

Lions, Tigers and Bears Volume 1 Trade Paperback is available now for $12.99, if you can find it. I say if, because I’ve been to three different stores in three different cities, and over the past two months, the stores have been sold out each time. If you really want to pick up a copy you should probably list it on your next Diamond order.
