smr_gs_ps_destroyer_edition_kiss.jpgThere have been various Kiss comics published throughout the years, but this time Platinum Studios and Kiss Catalog, the company run by Kiss leaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, have partnered to create the Kiss Comics Group.

The group will kick off with “Kiss 4K”, the story of the transformation of Simmons, Stanley and other Kiss band members from rock stars to world-protecting warrior spirits. If you are still a member of the KISS ARMY you want to check out the Destroyer Edition which will be the world’s largest printed book. It’s mega huge and will sell for $50.

The second title is expected to be “Kiss Girls,” which features four teenagers who “talk about shopping and are about as dysfunctional as anyone until something happens to them and they get to wear the Kiss makeup and look good doing it,” Simmons said.

KISS 4K #1 will debut at Wizard World L.A. from March 16-18, 2007. Both Simmons and Stanley will appear at the event.

Hmm. The original Kiss comics from Marvel were pretty impressive, in a weird sort of way. I also enjoyed the Dark Horse run where they picked up as though 20 years of stories happened with those characters since the original Marvel issues took place.

I really hate that art, though…
