Marvel and the Dabel Brother’s thrust into the realm of Sci-Fi and Fantasy continues with a look at the alternate America history of best-selling author Orson Scott Card’s Red Prophet: Tales of Alvin Maker. Marvel has sent us cover images, and a five page preview of issue #4, on sale next week.
Card’s Hugo and Nebula finalist novel is brought to life by Roland Bernard Brown and illustrators Renato Arlem and Miguel Montenegro.
Here is how Marvel describes the series:
“Red Prophet: Tales of Alvin Maker is set in an America where magic works, hex signs are powerful, good and evil presences roam the land, and many people have special talents. The tale focuses on a young boy named Alvin Miller who is the seventh son of a seventh son, with the power to shape the world around him. Alvin finds himself caught in a war between the Red men and the Whites on the American frontier.”
Red Prophet: Tales of Alvin Maker #4 will be available December 6, 2006, and issue #5 will be available January 4, 2007. Both will sell for $2.99.
