Sony Pictures TV has launched a direct to DVD to distribute projects that have no network attachments. The new division is called Culver Entertainment and will launch with a 13 part animated Spider-Man collection. The DVD will be released next year. Culver Entertainment will focus on franchise stuff first, and eventually release original scripted comedies and dramas. While the company is currently in talks with potential advertisers, they are also considering broadband distribution for their content as well.
